Oh, it was good. Not nearly as good as the first movie since the story wasn't quite as thought through. Not at all as tight. It had a great many instances when I laughed out loud but it's Deadpool - if you don't laugh out loud someone fucked up. This time Ryan Reynolds had his handsome fingers nestled in with the script writing, and since we've grown to know little by little that Ryan Reynolds in fact is some sort of AU Wade Wilson I can partly excuse the weak story. But not the first major character death.
Lots and lots of silly one-liners and poking fun at DC. And Marvel. And just about everything else on the planet.
A bit in to the movie I thought I spotted a familiar face I needed to check out on IMDB. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Went to Wikipedia and lo and behold! There he was! Sala Baker! Credited as playing the adult version of kid villain Russell Collins. Sala Baker is great. Check out Sala Baker.
EDIT:
This article from the Mary Sue explains my feelings quite well.

| Guillermo checking the receipts. |
Also, as the first black man EVER Jordan Peele won Best Original Screenplay for Get Out and that just warms my soul. Well deserved.
I'm obviously a bit disappointed about Logan not getting an Oscar.

Behold...
...the glory that is Taika Waititi.
This strange kiwi.
I used to think his kind of humour and entire personality was a bit 'too much' and waaay too awkward for me. He felt weird and narcissistic. But the man is... well, fascinating. As an introvert I was strangely drawn to finding out more about this complete opposite of me. Suddenly it struck me that I have several friends who are just like him; loud, confident, odd, creative, ridiculously goofy yet passive-aggressively politically aware. I love it. Now that I know why I was drawn to him to begin with I can thoroughly enjoy his work.
Chaotic good.
Chaotic good.
I wholeheartedly recommend What We Do in the Shadows. See it.

Welcome to Disaster Area 20-17
Wow. This year.
The bar was set so low you would think it's impossible to fuck it up, wouldn't ya?
I love how Hollywood suddenly realised that the greater majority of people on this planet is neither white, nor in fact male. Funny, huh? Somehow the realisation that diverse films earn more money than whitewashed crap came as a shock to them. Like... seriously?!
It's infuriating to realise just how much the powerful men of Hollywood can keep quiet about when it's 99,5% women who end up the victims of these predators in their midst. They knew Harvey Weinstein was abusing and assaulting women and did nothing... until we found out.
And for anyone calling this a witch-hunt; yes, we're witches and we're finally hunting the predators down. This is something we should have done ages ago with the likes of Roman Polanski and Woody Allen too. Make rapists afraid again.
Put them out of their jobs.
Don't trivialise their actions.
Or our experiences. #metoo
I mourn the deaths of both of my grandfathers, as well as my paternal grandmother, while the rest of you can join me in mourning of Bill Paxton, John Hurt, Gösta Ekman, Nelsan Ellis, Rikard Wolff, Chester Bennington, Tom Petty, Harry Dean Stanton...
Moreover:
If you feel like this Year Review is getting you a bit down, I'm terribly sorry since that wasn't my intention at all, but it's been a shit year hasn't it? Good thing it was over quicker than it takes to pull a band-aid. We'll simply have to end the review on a lighter note!
Favourite Picks of 2017
Movies: Moonlight, Logan, Get Out, The Handmaiden, Trainspotting 2, Logan, Thor: Ragnarok, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, and did I mention Logan?
Books: Isaac Asimov didn't disappoint with his 'Caves of Steel'. 'Revolution' by Russel Brand (!!!) turned out to be much better than I expected. 'The Fall of the House of Cabal' by Jonathan L. Howard left me pleasantly bewildered. 'Flowers for Algernon' by Daniel Keyes was a thrill-ride over too quickly. 'Redshirts' by John Scalzi grew on me. 'The Day of the Triffids' by John Wyndham was good ol' classical scifi at it's very best! The Book Thief by Markus Zusak was emotional as hell, especially with everything that's going on politically at the moment. The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling. For a closer look on what I've read this year there's my Goodreads profile.
TV shows: I added this category because we need to talk about 'Westworld'. Like, we really do. Because Thandie Newton ❤. Also: 'Dear White People'. I thought I enjoyed the movie but hoo boy, how I must have been mistaken because I loved every second of the show to the point that I never wanted it to end (there will be a second season, some champagne please!). Speaking of things that never end; the thirteenth Doctor is a woman! THE DEFENDERS, FUCK YEAH. I finished the Defenders in two binges and want more. More Daredevil. More Jessica Jones. More Luke Cage. More Claire Temple. MORE! The 2nd season of Stranger Things was way too short and I need more, STAT.
Events: Moonlight winning Best Picture at the Oscars the way it did (OH MY GODS!!), Wonder Woman made a killing at the box office once again proving that we're truly starving for both female heroes and female creators. THE BEES ARE COMING BACK! HIV/AIDS is no longer the number one cause of death on the African continent. We outed so many predators in Hollywood. Good job. Scientists have come up with a way to regrow the Great Barrier Reef. My new buddy Sengir moved in with me.

Moreover:
- I entered singledom again.
- I went to a The Rocky Horror Picture Show audience participation showing and IT WAS SO AWESOME.
- I went to Budapest with my sister for a spa weekend in April. Not only was I told by my massage therapist that I had to work on my anger issues (I do, but what the hell...) but I also caught a severe cold that lasted me for a fortnight and stole my voice.
- I celebrated Towel Day hobbit style.
- After waiting for over a year and a half after buying the ticket I finally got to experience Russell Howard!
- I had one helluva midsummer. Magical. Just wow. I still can't believe how much fun I had.
- I got to try and be the boss-woman at work for two weeks. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong for me to try and fix. But as it turned out I learnt a lot in the process.
- After a brief hiatus of one year I went back to the Medieval Week on Gotland, with new silks no less! I had a blast. And got home with ulcers, a hangover and a fever.
- I lost three out of four grandparents in a span of four months. Rough as fuck.
- My asshole roomie Sengir moved in. Soon all of my possessions were covered in a fine layer of his ginger hair and everything is as it should be. I am become a Crazy Cat Lady.
- I had Ben and Jerry's Non-Dairy Ice-Cream and for a moment all existence was awesome.
- I made sure to make my intentions clear at a huge demonstration against Nazism here in my city. We won this round. Lets keep fighting.
- I finalised the process of getting myself sterilised. There are no critters ever crawling out of this uterus. #notyourincubator
- I celebrated Halloween decadently, with gusto.
- I got myself that tattoo I've wanted since I was thirteen years old.
- I've been to see movies at the cinema no less than ten times this year.

Thor: Ragnarok - first thoughts
I've just come home from the cinema after having seen Thor: Ragnarok and now ALL I can think of is Tom Hiddleston's gorgeous ass. Bless that ass.

Who's with me?
I don't usually look at trailers because I don't like having my fun spoiled beforehand but goddammit, I couldn't keep away from this one.
My face the entire time:
Sooo....
Basically.

Puttin' the face on
Went to see Logan Lucky with the boys. I put makeup on my face and everything.
Logan Lucky was a Soderbergh alright. A sort of hillbilly Ocean's Eleven (their words), but not quite as good. Seeing as I'm not a fan of neither Adam Driver nor Daniel Craig, I was only attracted to the Soderbergh heist movie description and Channing Tatum. Tatum was good. Soderbergh was ok. On the whole, it was ok.
The company was excellent.

MOONLIGHT
I laughed for fifteen years when I woke up yesterday to find this video in my Tumblr feed. Look at all of their reactions. It's beautiful. Moonlight is the rightful winner, there was never any question about it. Mahershala Ali got his Oscar and so did Viola Davis.
And by the by, the Academy can go suck a big bag of dicks for giving both abusive creep Casey Affleck and racist human waste Mel Gibson awards all the while spouting anti-Trump rhetoric. Like, really? And how the hell could the Oscar for Best Make-Up go to the mess that was Suicide Squad? Eugh.

I (kinda) stand corrected
Remember a few weeks ago when I was complaining about award shows not being diverse enough when it comes to their nominees? I think I ought to correct my statement. At least a little. Nominations are still mostly male and white but the winners I've heard most about so far...
Hidden Figures and Moonlight have been taking audiences by storm and have rightfully started walking off with prize after prize after prize. I have yet to see Hidden Figures but anything with Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe and Taraji P. Henson just got to be good. Mahershala Ali and Janelle Monáe appears in both movies mentioned above and Janelle won the Breakout Performance award from AAFCA for her performances while Mahershala won a SAG Award not long ago for Moonlight. Hidden Figures won a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
This is a good thing. I like this.

Razzies: the Worst Movies of 2016
Hopefully Suicide Squad, Batman vs. Superman and Gods of Egypt are going to get ALL OF THE AWARDS at this years Razzies Awards. They deserve all the "WORST. MOVIE. EVER." awards that were ever thought into existence. And I really really really hope Jared Leto wins Worst Supporting Actor for being a total douche to his fellow cast members.
(Winners to be announced February 25th.)

Award show season
Award show season has started and already I've lost hope for the nominations and recipients to be even in the least diverse (this even though the Oscars have actually hit a record high of nominations of people of colour, *sarcastic yaaaaay*). So I'm just going to wish with all my might that Deadpool will win a shit-ton of awards. For the lulz.

The Hutt Recommends: Rogue One
This is good, oh so good.
A few days ago I decided it was time to take the bull by its horns and watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite it being hyped to oblivion and me already knowing the whole movie through what people on the internet have told me I planned to sit through it. Mostly, I wanted to see it just so that I could go watch Rogue One with all the other movies in the series seen and dealt with.
To be frank with you; I was entirely underwhelmed and a little disappointed. None of the new characters engaged me and none of the old ones held the same power they once did (except possibly Chewbacca). It's a mystery to me how Kylo Ren was expected to be (and then actually became!) such a popular character since all I see is a belligerent 5-year-old brat who's acting out because he's just been told off by his parents. The golden glow of the movie came from Finn and if they had expanded on his story just a liiiiiittle bit more I'd have fallen for it. But they didn't. It was nice to revisit the Star Wars universe again but nostalgia can only take you so far. This is simply A New Hope in brand new (but slightly crooked) wrapping paper and if I can choose which movie I'd rather spend two hours watching I'd go for A New Hope.
So, slightly discouraged, I headed for the cinema to sit down, crisps and soda in hand, to experience what I thought would be two more hours of mediocre nostalgia-riding scifi. Luckily, I was wrong.
Something I noticed pretty early on was that I might be a bit bigger a nerd for the Star Wars universe than I initially thought myself to be, because as soon as I saw an AT-ST stalking the streets of Jedha City on screen I squealed like the excited child I had been reduced to. I love Star Wars tech and lore. Mostly lore. I'm a known lore hunter. And there is plenty to be found in Rogue One, because this is a prequel to sequel the previous prequels and lead us towards A New Hope. Still with me? Good.
I loved everything about this movie; all the characters, the plot, the locations, the dialogue, the actors, the costumes, the fighting... everything. As uncharming as it must sound, I'm usually not a fan of the whole group of main characters (or their actors) but in this case I was. They are all precious little gems to be protected. Obviously, I spent a whole lot of this cinema experience crying. Rogue One is darker than its Star Wars siblings and all the better for it.
I guess I can expect it to be a bit of an unpopular opinion but I was relieved to find that Rogue One doesn't focus any particular energy on anyone from the Skywalker family even though some of them (Vader and Leia) make short appearances. In fact, there are a few more recognisable faces popping up here and there: Grand Moff Tarkin, Bail Organa and Admiral Raddus to mention three I remember from the original trilogy, but they are still the side characters they always were. I am rather fed up with watching Skywalkers mess up the galaxy, it was about time to let other characters' stories shine and be heard.
I loved this movie much more than I thought I would.

Fuck you 2016
2016 has been a year of death, misery and unexpected turns of events.
Alan Rickman, Muhammad Ali, Prince, Anton Yelchin, Ron Glass, Carrie Fisher... the list of excellent people leaving this life seems to go on forever.
Homophobia and racism won further ground internationally; the Brussels bombings, the Lahore suicide bombing, Brexit, the Pulse shooting, Donald Trump being elected president, the Aleppo massacre, the Berlin attacks just to mention a few out of too many.
My struggles with anxiety reached a new high with panic attacks and many a sleepless, heavy and tear-filled night. I haven't been able to focus on much for more than a few minutes at a time. The only things I've just about managed is work (in fact, I received a well-earned salary increase thanks to that), binge-watch just about every single tv show on Netflix and a few hundred hours of Clicker Heroes divided into a maximum of five minutes at a time. Like Bilbo, I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread. No matter how much I do in a day, it's never enough and my insides hurt.
One of the good things coming out of this year is my boyfriend.
And some of the books I've read.
That I quit nicotine at long last.
The Stitch onesie I bought.
My few but very good friends for sure.
The blog passing 60 000 pageviews.
That I bought some delicious teas (from Tefrossa).
I got to travel to Warsaw with two of my great friends.
The tattoo I got.
The autographs I collected.
And that Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his Oscar. But then on the other hand, that might have been the final seal to bring on the Apocalypse. To bring us to our final ends... good times!
Favourite pick of 2016
Movies: Deadpool, Zootopia, Deadpool, Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Deadpool. Did I mention Deadpool?
Books: The Martian by Andy Weir was an unexpected happy surprise and a thoroughly good read, Tough Shit by Kevin Smith cracked me up and made me want to listen to Kevin's SModcast (also highly recommended btw), Contact by Carl Sagan was truly marvellous and The Brothers Cabal by Jonathan L. Howard was fantastic.
Events: (Because yes, we need this too.) The Manatee, the Giant Panda and the Humpback Whale are no longer critically endangered. There is now an Ebola vaccine. Suicide rates are going down world wide. Child mortality rates are going down world wide. The ozone layer is healing itself. The money gathered from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge led to the discovery of a gene that could be the key to beating the decease. See! We actually managed a few good things.
But in conclusion:
2016, kindly fuck the fuck off.

Fantastic rubbish and why I disliked it
SPOILERS GALORE.
BEWARE, HERE BE DRAGONS. LOTS OF THEM.
If you had it in your mind to think that this was the movie about the author of the much talked about textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, the widely appreciated magizoologist Newt Scamander, you can just do yourself a favour and toss that thought out the window.
Let me tell you a thing:
In the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them we travel to the USA in the 1920's to sneak a peek at how the magical society's arranged outside of Europe. Here we get to follow the No-Maj (see also: 'muggle') Jacob Kowalski; a man stuck in a dead end job at a can factory but with grand dreams of eventually opening a bakery. Life is strange and the ginger man with the suitcase that Jacob runs into at the bank even more so, and suddenly he crashes head first into the magical world.
This movie had no hook.
In classic movie making you spend the first 20-30 minutes of a movie introducing characters and presenting the problem that will have to be solved or the mission that needs to be completed through the course of the movie. Example: Zootopia - meet Judy Hopps, the bunny who wants to be a cop. Within 10 minutes we know who Judy is and what her goals are. Within the next 10 minutes we know the problems she'll have to face and get past. Within a total of 30 minutes I know exactly who Judy is, what her motivations are and her mission for the remaining 60 minutes. There are of course exceptions (mostly sequels) and even though we're supposed to already know the world in which Fantastic Beasts is set, we really don't (because this is more of a bad reboot) and the characters are all new to us.
What I'm referring to is called 'the hook' - it is what will draw us in to the story and make us interested in sticking with the characters for the duration of the movie. The hook should make us root for the main character.
I had no fucking clue what the movie was about until well over an hour into the movie and even then it was mostly guesswork. I realised just how empty it was. It was a movie about nothing, with plenty of surface and nostalgic hints at something that used to be popular.
This movie gave the main character no character.
Newt Scamander was an empty shell of a man. We received no info about Newt's personality, his motivations nor his goals. It took us over 40 minutes to find out that Newt had a passion for magical creatures, something I would think should be vital for the story to move on. But no. When we had landed that lil' tidbit of info I was already way over this movie. The same void of info applies to his pal Tina Goldstein by the way. By the end of the movie I was struck by the fact that I had probably seen more of Eddie Redmayne's hair than his face. Interesting choice but hardly a good one.
There was no character building going on, but then on the other hand there was absolutely no character traits to build FROM. What makes it really ironic is that the side character Kowalski was rather well-formed by the end of the movie; we knew his personality (sweet, kind and curious), his goals (open bakery) and the problems he has to face before that (no money, dead end job, ginger wizard with a suitcase full of strange creatures). We even knew more about Kowalski's background halfway through the movie than we knew about Newt's.
I never rooted for Newt. I rooted for Kowalski.
No chemistry between spouses.
For some of us the Harry Potter books was an excellent chance to accumulate some History of Magic by heart. Newt Scamander and Porpentina 'Tina' Goldstein supposedly get married, procreate and eventually bless us with the presence of Loony Lovegood. Whatever love these two develop for each other, they do not develop it during the duration of this movie. There is no budding love between these two. There is nothing but a blank disinterest visible to the viewer.
Is there a beautiful something going on between Kowalski and Queenie? Yes. Again, interesting choice but hardly a good one.
There is a magic fix for everything.
This movie would have us think that there are no limits; magic fixes anything, you can do anything and there is no cost of magic ...really? If there are no limits and no costs anyone could do anything and things get dull very quickly from there. I was appalled to find myself losing interest in a world than meant everything to me for so many years.
J.K. Rowling, sweetheart, you need to have a talk with Brandon Sanderson about the construction of a believable system of magic. There used to be one. But you obviously lost it. Deal with that, please.
Casual fatphobia.
OK, so Newt can fit a fucking rhinoceros into his suitcase with ease but a chubby guy is too much of a fucking challenge? COME THE FUCK ON!! Lazy jokes does not a good movie make.
And then there's Johnny fucking Depp.
I'm not even going to start on how over-appreciated I think Depp has been for the last fifteen years. Ever since Pirates of the Caribbean Depp has played nothing but Jack Sparrow. All other characters have been Jack Sparrow pretending to be someone else. Add to that Depp's latest departure down Wife Beater Lane and I can't see how ANYONE felt it was a good idea to cast him in a Young Adult movie. The moment he entered the screen I laughed out loud in disbelief. I couldn't believe it even though I knew he'd be involved somehow and hadn't yet seen him on screen. It was absurd. I can't.
TL;DR: I'm not upset because I expected miracles from Fantastic Beasts. On the contrary, I expected disaster.
And I was still disappointed by the end credits.

Disney these days
There's an hilarious Breaking Bad reference in Zootopia. And several G.I. Jane references. BUT THERE'S A HUGE BREAKING BAD REFERENCE IN A DISNEY MOVIE.
I LOVE IT.
I LOVE IT.

Deadpool - new and improved
Yeah, I fucking LOVED that the damage done by that tragic excuse for a Wolverine movie was entirely obliterated by the great success that is Deadpool. And yeah sure, I'm aware that it's only thanks to afore mentioned success that the next Wolverine movie might actually be 'R'-rated. We'll see.

HE DID IT
Congratulations to Leonardo DiCaprio who've finally won that Academy Award he deserves.

2013 - a year full of... cats?
I usually do this thing at the end of every year where I go through the events of the passed year. This year will not be an exception but seeing as I haven't written much this year nor done much else than sleep and work I'll just feed you a few anecdotes and pictures with captions. Enjoy. Or not.
Oh and if you're just looking for some of my favourite tv shows, films and books of the year skip to the end. Keep scrolling.
The beginnings of a new year...:
My old friend Torsten and I spent New Year's Day of 2013 together. He turned 17 this year and is still one of the most opinionated teenagers I've ever met. I'm hungover in the picture, I'm sure, but Torsten doesn't mind. It only guarantees him lots of cuddles. We love cuddles.
Spring's here:
I was a pink Yip Yip Martian for the Scnadinavian Sci-Fi, Game & Film Convention and got attack-hugged by a very happy Spiderman. I'm not sure how I ended up in this situation. Ok, I'm lying. It's all L's fault. He's in the blue Yip Yip costume. We were awesome.
All summer long:
Summer arrived late but it came in like a wrecking ball, ripping people's clothes off as it went. No, really. I love how the whole of Gothenburg acts whenever the sun comes out. All these half naked hipsters, punks, metalheads and rockers with their tattoos - eye candy galore.
I was in love with my piercing. And my hat. All the hipster in this picture is hurting my eyes.
I got back to enjoying handicrafts which delights me to no end because creating things is a great pleasure but hasn't held that kind of attraction to me in a long while.
We crazy Swedes often enjoy our Midsummer's Eves with a large side of alcohol. Attending a party at a friend's place meant I was stealing his tiara at every chance I had. He's got the prettiest things. And the loveliest of shoes and glittery dresses.
Autumn is summer's end:
2013 was the year of my return to the Medieval Week on Gotland and it was much better than I could ever have imagined. On the first night after I had blatantly stolen a hat from one of the landsknecht, I picked up a Steampunk Pirate to share a nightly stroll with. Only later did I realise that the pirate and I could have advanced to a more horisontal position in my bunk but hey, I was having a hoot and a half nontheless. I returned the hat. I drank enough beer to drown a fish. On the last night I located and snogged a bearded knight with amazing hair. In all fairness, I must admit it to be a week to cherish in memory.
L adopted a Maine Coon and after spending hours in shock over how fucking HUGE this feline creature is I couldn't stop petting him. He makes a great pillow.
We've reached the end - December:
A busy month for me. I got started on my new tattoo but with a great deal left for another sitting I'll rather not bore you with the details just yet. As you probably have already figured out I'm planning my next tattoo as I write. It might be painful to get a tattoo but there's nothing like the pleasure of having it done.
It was finally time for my return to Belfast. My friend L got to see Belfast in all its glory. Bombs and all. Yeah, I'm serious. We're the kind of freaks that enjoy visiting cathedrals so we went for a tour to St. Anne's Cathedral and later the same day a small bomb detonated nearby. Luckily we were happily drinking our tea back at the hostel at that point. I was pleased nontheless because my inner beer nerd was overjoyed with all the locally produced ale I poured down my gullet.
Once back I continued my life as usual but I was a pair of pink pig slippers and a Cookie Monster onesie richer.
In conclusion:
I move on with my life with my boy band haircut still in place, but with a larger library, a new piercing and more ink. 2013 held no greater surprises in my life and looking back at it I can't really find anything that stands out among all the rest. It was a bleak year to be quite honest and I make no resolutions or promises facing the next one. 2013 was in retrospect the year when nothing considerable changed.
But what about the films and books?
2013 wasn't even that much of an amazing cinema experince. Quite a lot of disappointments to be fair as I had waited a few years for some of the titles (Riddick, Kick-Ass 2, The Wolverine, Star Trek Into Darkness among others) but if I had to recommend you anything I'd tell you to give Now You See Me, Monster's University, The World's End, Iron Man 3 and Pacific Rim a chance. Like previously stated, nothing mind-blowingly awesome but entertaining at the least.
Even Doctor Who lost all of its charm and I have no fucks left to give about the fate of the Doctor now that Moffat has completely taken over the show. Sadly, nearly the same goes for my old favourites Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy - by now I'm just too invested in the characters to stop watching. The third season of Game of Thrones came and went. Instead of lingering on this misery, I watched and rewatched what there is of the second season of Elementary and welcomed Dracula with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Almost Human with Karl Urban and Michael Ealy to my weekly schedule. Sleepy Hollow was a fresh wind. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't. The instant success of Orange is the New Black was well deserved and I'm on pins and needles for the next season.
As we arrive at the subject of the books I've plowed through this past year, there are a couple of titles I'd like to give the praise they deserve: I, Lucifer by Glen Duncan, Hyperion by Dan Simmons and the Johannes Cabal series by Jonathan L. Howard. They're excellent if you like a good story with an unexpected ending.

So I completed things for my medieval outfits while I had the inspiration. Check out my purse! It's got tassels!

| Here, have a picture of His Fluffyness Mus-Ingvar. |
It was an unusually warm September. Lovely.
Oh, and I turned 25. Blergh.
Qwertee is my new favourite thing to throw money at. It speaks to me. Though I ask you to ignore the ring I'm wearing in the picture; I use it at work to scare off the creeps by pretending that I'm engaged (the feminist in me is crying over the fact that the only thing that can scare the creeps off is the potential threat of my fake partner). To everyone else it's a silver ring with the One Ring engraving.

Oh for heaven's sake...
Are there any words for my anger about there being so many plans for so many superhero movies but still no talk whatsoever about a superheroine movie? No Wonder Woman in sight. No Superwoman. No Bat Girl. No She-Hulk. No Spider Woman. I weep as I read through the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past and find only six women. Where are all the superheroines??! And don't talk to me about there being "no interest for that" because there is! There is a fan base! There is demand! And if, for some reason, you don't think that there are any heroines that could hold up their own movie then at least make sure that women are properly represented in movies where they group heroes and heroines together. Black Widow had the third most amount of screen time in the Avengers, behind only Iron Man and Captain America and we loved it! We loved seeing an interesting and strong heroine for once. Well, I did at least.
So NOOOOO, there are no words available in any the two languages I speak that could describe all of my anger.
